Who we are

About StratoLens

For the teams who own an Azure estate and have to answer for what it costs, who can reach it, and what changes inside it.

Runs in your tenant
Azure-only, by design
Zero data exfiltration

Why we built it

We are Jason and Mike, the two people behind StratoLens. We have spent years inside Azure tenants that grew faster than anyone could keep track of: dozens of subscriptions, RBAC assignments nobody remembers granting, orphaned resources quietly billing every month, and policy drift that only surfaces during an audit. The tools that could have helped all wanted the same thing first, that we ship a copy of our infrastructure data to their cloud. For a lot of teams, that is exactly the answer a security review will not allow. We built StratoLens so you never have to make that trade.

What StratoLens is

StratoLens is a self-hosted platform for Azure visibility and governance. It deploys from the Azure Marketplace directly into your own tenant in under 15 minutes, runs on Azure Container Apps and Cosmos DB serverless for typically under a dollar a day, and scans your subscriptions on a schedule you control. Your infrastructure metadata never leaves your tenant. There is no StratoLens cloud, no external credentials, and no separate database holding a copy of your estate. You can see everything in your Azure environment without your data ever leaving it.

What it does

StratoLens is not a one-time scan. It builds a continuously updated picture of your estate from Azure Resource Graph and Activity Logs, so you can answer what changed, what it costs, and where to save. In one product you get change tracking, cost analytics (a unified cost explorer, anomaly detection, orphaned-resource cleanup, and commitment coverage), access optimization for RBAC, policy governance, and network visualization. Every feature is included on every plan, and pricing is a flat subscription by environment size that lands on your existing Azure invoice. It does not punish you for growing or for adding people.

One example of the kind of thing it surfaces: a customer whose spend had been climbing for months, with nothing misconfigured and no spike large enough to trip an alert, installed StratoLens and pinned the cause in about 30 minutes. Multi-revision mode had been left on for an Azure Container Apps resource in production, leaving hundreds of legacy revisions running. A resource that should have cost about $50 a month was costing roughly $1,500. They corrected it the same day.

What it does not do

We think being clear about the edges builds more trust than pretending the product is everything. StratoLens is Azure-only by design; we trade multi-cloud breadth for Azure depth, things like Entra group resolution, Azure Policy drift, and commitment mechanics. It surfaces findings with evidence and dollar figures, but it does not act on your environment for you. It shows you what changed and what it costs, and you decide what to do about it.

How we work

We are a small team, so we stay close to the people who use the product. The fastest way to reach us is our community, where we answer questions about Azure cost, governance, and StratoLens directly. You can also email us at contact@getstratolens.com.
