Branding

Present your StratoLens instance under your own product name, logos, and colors. Branding applies to every user, and carries into outgoing emails and Slack and Teams alerts. Open Settings > General, expand the Branding card, and click Customize branding.

Permissions

View Settings lets you open the page and see the current values. Modify Settings is required to save or reset. Without View Settings, Generaldoesn't appear under Settings.

Key Capabilities

Your Name Everywhere

The product name replaces "StratoLens" in the app, the browser tab, emails, and Slack and Teams alerts.

Logos and Favicon

A primary logo, an optional sidebar logo for contrast on the sidebar background, and a browser tab icon.

Light and Dark Palettes with Live Preview

Set 14 colors, each with its own light-mode and dark-mode value, and check them on a mock of the app before you save.

No Redeploy

A save applies across the app right away, and one click restores the built-in defaults.

Product name and logos

The Identity card holds the product name and three logo tiles. Every field is optional: anything left empty uses the built-in StratoLens value. Click a tile to upload or replace an image, and use the X in its corner to remove it.

Fields

Product name
Shown instead of "StratoLens". Up to 60 characters. Empty, or only spaces, shows "StratoLens".
Primary logo
The default mark across the app and in email headers.
Sidebar logo
Optional. A version of the logo for the sidebar background, for when the primary logo lacks contrast there. Falls back to the primary logo.
Favicon
Optional. The browser tab icon.
Image files
PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG, up to 100 KB per logo. Logos load with every page, so they're kept small.

Use PNG or JPEG for the primary logo

Many mail clients can't display WebP or SVG. With a WebP or SVG primary logo, emails go out with no header logo at all, not the StratoLens logo.

The Branding page before any changes. Every field is empty and every color chip reads Default.

Colors

Each color has two chips: the sun for light mode and the moon for dark mode. Click a chip to pick a color from the swatch or type a hex value, or click the reset arrow to go back to the built-in color for that mode. A chip reads Default when no override is set.

Light and dark are set separately

Setting a color's light value doesn't change its dark value. A side you leave unset keeps the built-in color, so set both if your users switch themes.

Colors must be 6-digit hex with a leading #, for example #2E3A59. An invalid value turns its chip red, the action bar lists every invalid color by name and mode, and Save changes stays disabled until you fix or clear them.

The built-in Accent is semi-transparent, so its default is shown as it appears on a card. An Accent override is always solid. Status, severity, and chart colors aren't brandable, so warnings, errors, and charts keep their meaning.

Picking the dark-mode Background color. The hex field shows the built-in default until you set a value.

Live preview

The Live preview card draws a small mock of the app (sidebar, active item, page heading, card) with your unsaved values. It shows only the theme mode the app is in, so switch the app's theme to preview the other mode.

Saving and resetting

The action bar stays fixed at the bottom of the page while you scroll.

Actions

Save changes
Saves everything. The app refreshes in place with the new branding. Other users see it on their next page load.
Discard
Throws away unsaved edits and returns to the last saved values.
Reset to defaults
After an inline Confirm reset, clears the product name, all logos, the favicon, and every color back to the built-in StratoLens branding.

Reset has no undo

Reset to defaults clears everything at once. To get your branding back, you re-upload the logos and re-enter the name and colors.

Every save and reset is recorded in the audit log as a Branding updated or Branding reset entry under Settings & Configuration.

Where branding appears

In the app

The sidebar header (sidebar logo and product name), the browser tab title and favicon, the sign-in loading and access-denied screens, the database migration screen, the guided tour, alert banners, user management and registration prompts, and settings text that describes what the app does. Default email subjects suggested when you create report subscriptions and notifications use the product name too.

Visible before sign-in

Because the sign-in loading and access-denied screens are branded, anyone who can reach the app URL sees your name, logo, and colors, signed in or not.

The same instance rebranded as ContosoLens. The sidebar header, page colors, and live preview all pick up the new name, logo, and dark-mode palette.

In emails

Alert notifications, report subscriptions, and test emails carry the product name in the header, the "Sent by" footer, the test email subject, and each alert's "View in product name" link. The header logo is your Primary logo, shown 32 px high with its width scaled to fit, so wide wordmarks keep their shape. With no primary logo, emails use the built-in StratoLens logo. See Notification Alerts and Report Subscriptions.

In Slack and Teams alerts

The product name appears in the message header ("product name Alerts"), the View in product name (Slack) or Open product name (Teams) button, the test-message marker, and the "see product name" overflow line.

Not branded

The generic webhook format (its payload is a fixed contract), webhook signature headers, setup scripts and the Azure role and app-registration names they create, and pages that refer to StratoLens as the vendor: Terms of Service, the help website link, licensing, billing, and the vendor container registry.

Powered by StratoLens credit

Once the product name is anything other than "StratoLens" (not case-sensitive), a small Powered by StratoLens credit with the StratoLens logo appears at the bottom of the sidebar, in both the desktop sidebar and the mobile menu. When the sidebar is collapsed, only the small logo shows. The credit always says StratoLens, uses the StratoLens logo, and links to getstratolens.com. Changing only colors or logos shows no credit.

If you need the credit changed, email us at contact@getstratolens.com.

Feature Integration

Troubleshooting

Save changes is grayed out

Answer

There are no unsaved edits, a color has an invalid hex value (the action bar names it), or you don't have the Modify Settings permission. Hover the button to check. Ask an administrator to review your permissions under Settings > Users.

My logo won't upload

Answer

The tile shows why: either "Logo must be a PNG, JPEG, WebP, or SVG image" or "Logo is N KB; must be 100 KB or smaller". Export a smaller or compressed version in one of those formats.

My logo is hard to see in the sidebar

Answer

Upload a Sidebar logo with better contrast against the sidebar, or change the Sidebar background color.

I changed a color but nothing changed

Answer

You likely set only the light or dark value while the app is in the other mode. Check both chips for that color, or switch the app's theme.

A colleague still sees the old branding

Answer

They need to reload the page. On instances running more than one app replica, it can take up to 5 minutes.
